By whitening your teeth, you can get a beautiful and youthful smile. If you do the whole process correctly, whitening will be very safe and at the same time effective and will not damage your teeth in any way. So if you want to beautify your smile, go to the first step and follow our instructions.
Survey of whitening methods
Brush your teeth with baking soda. Since it is also added to toothpastes, it must work! Research has shown that baking soda contains free radicals that can pass through tooth enamel and leave it clean. Simply soak a toothbrush in baking soda and brush your teeth with it for a few minutes as you normally would.
It must be said that there is still debate about the safety of this method. Some people claim that baking soda whitens their teeth, but at the same time weakens and destroys the enamel, so you should not rely on this method in the long run.
Brush your teeth with strawberries. This delicious fruit contains malic acid, which is an agent that can eat away any stains from your teeth. Mash a few strawberries in baking soda, then apply the mixture to your teeth and let it work for five minutes. Then brush your teeth and you’re done!
But you can easily lubricate your teeth with strawberries themselves (cut them to get effective juices) and then wash them with a glass of water.
Experiment with coconut oil or apple cider vinegar. Although these natural substances are still the subject of debate, some consider them to be strong bleaching agents. Use them as mouthwash or rub them into your teeth and leave on for about ten minutes. Then brush your teeth normally, rinse your mouth and you’re done!
But you should not fully rely on these methods either. Visible results can come calmly after a month or two.
Buy a teeth whitening kit. You probably won’t find an easier method. You can definitely find various whitening sets at local pharmacies or specialty stores. There are different quality products available at all price levels – but they should all be effective (it’s only a matter of time). So if you have the opportunity, get a set.
Get a kit recommended by your dentist. The dentist will definitely have access to much more effective gels and molds than you would get in a pharmacy. If he does not sell any of these products himself, he will certainly know of a specialist from whom you will purchase such products. You won’t give anything for asking!
Molds and gels are very effective, but their main disadvantage is that they do not have to sit in your mouth. So if you have a jaw of, say, non-standard dimensions, whitening with molds will probably not be the most suitable for you.
Get your teeth whitened professionally. Several excellent technologies have been developed for teeth whitening. Although most of them have to be done by an expert, you can handle some at home. Ask your dentist what he would recommend.
This is probably the fastest method, but also the most expensive.
In the case of more serious stains, it is also possible to apply so-called veneers and lumineers, ie thin, all-ceramic veneers (both are only cosmetic procedures).
Daily preventive measures
Follow good dental hygiene, consisting of brushing your teeth and using dental floss. There is nothing that can be done, the best prevention of dental problems still remains brushing teeth and using dental floss. Brush your teeth in the morning and evening, but don’t forget to do it after eating. Food residue that sticks to your teeth can lead to stains – so if you remove food particles immediately, no stains will form.
Try to clean for at least two minutes each time. Don’t forget to brush your tongue and gums with a brush!
Also use whitening gum and mouthwash. Although flossing and flossing have a greater impact than chewing gum and mouthwash, be sure not to reject such supplements. The more preventive measures, the whiter the teeth (in the long run). During the day between brushing your teeth, chew the whitening gum or quickly rinse your mouth with a little mouthwash to whiten your teeth. You will contribute to your health!
Using chewing gum and mouthwash alone is unlikely to have any more visible effect, but both products can be helpful in combination with proper cleaning and flossing. Take them as a icing on the cake.
Avoid all tobacco products. By this we really mean all tobacco products – cigarettes, pipe tobacco, cigars, chewing tobacco, snuff, snus and more. All the listed products are harmful to your teeth. Chewing tobacco may seem less harmful to the body and teeth than smoking cigarettes, but this is not true. Chewing and snuff contains 28 chemicals that contribute to various types of oral cancer, while being more addictive than nicotine. The only right choice is to avoid using any tobacco products.
Reduce coffee and tea consumption. But if you can’t imagine your morning without them, try to drink them with a straw so that the fluid touches your teeth as little as possible. However, it is best to exclude them completely from the diet, so if you decide to do so, go for it.
And no, cream and milk do not reduce the harmful effects of coffee – substances that destroy the enamel do not evaporate anywhere. So if your coffee is not just colored milk (milk significantly exceeds the proportion of coffee), you will not do anything with a lighter color.
Get your teeth done. Today, fashionable dental fillings are already standard. However, it is possible that you still have unsightly and highly visible amalgam fillings in your teeth (white fillings may not be available or were too expensive). If you have some money saved, you can invest it in replacing your dental fillings with more modern ones, made of composite plastics in the color of teeth.
Rotten teeth can also be covered with a porcelain crown. Talk to your dentist about the different options.
See the dentist more often than necessary. Visit a dental hygienist and doctor from time to time. You will keep your teeth perfectly white and, in addition, you will reveal any possible problems right at the beginning.
Wear shades of blue. Shades of blue (whether on clothing or makeup) have been shown to brighten white. Therefore, instead of a red sweater with a matching lipstick, you should get a blue turtleneck and complete it with a blue lip gloss. Of course, the effect disappears when you dress in a different color, but as a quick fix, this is a good tip!
Do not choose matte lipsticks and varnishes, not even those with a blue tint. Matte lipsticks will make your teeth no longer work with their typical pearlescent luster, but will be, say, shabby. Therefore, choose shiny and radiant accessories.
Eat crispy vegetables. Apples, fresh green beans, celery, carrots, raw cauliflower, broccoli, etc. Just any kind of hard vegetable or fruit that can grind your teeth. So if you have just enjoyed a cup of coffee and do not have a toothbrush on hand, at least peel an apple or a carrot.
In addition, all vegetables are very beneficial to your overall health!
