In another twist in this ever-moving transfer saga, Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo has reportedly decided on his next move.
Fabrizio Romano described it as “the most amazing transfer event of the summer” and we couldn’t agree more.
After weeks of speculation, the saga appeared to be over after Liverpool agreed a British record £111m transfer fee with Brighton for the Ecuadorian international.
Romano himself said on Sunday night that Caicedo would become a Liverpool player on Friday if “everything goes as planned”.
And on Monday, Jurgen Klopp confirmed a deal had been agreed in his latest press conference. “I have been informed that I can confirm that the agreement with the club has been agreed,” he said. “Whatever that means exactly in the end we’ll see.”
But hours later, the highly-rated quarterback appeared to be having “second thoughts.”

And now, Caicedo appears to have told Liverpool he only wants to join Chelsea.
This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who said the midfielder decided to stick to his word and only accept Chelsea as personal terms had been agreed since the end of May.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are set to bid again for a deal with Brighton.
