Tottenham are said to be tempted to make a move for Chelsea’s failed Romelu Lukaku as a replacement for outgoing Harry Kane.

Kane was Bayern Munich’s first target in the summer window and the Bundesliga champions have been in constant discussions with Tottenham.

An update from Sky Sports claimed Kane was “increasingly likely” to stay at Tottenham, where he is the club’s record goalscorer.

Tottenham now has the great task of trying to replace their main man Gazzetta dello Sport They claim to weigh Lukaku’s surprise hit.

The Belgian striker is surplus to requirements for Chelsea, having returned from a loan spell at Inter Milan.

The Blues are looking to get rid of him for a second time even if they incurred a huge loss on the £97.5m they paid to bring him back to Stamford Bridge for a second spell.

It appears they would be comfortable even selling to Tottenham but the report suggests that new boss Ange Postecoglou is not a big fan of Lukaku “from a technical point of view”.

There is also the fact that the former Manchester United and Everton man has no desire to stay in the Premier League and wants to play in Serie A again.

However, Juventus fans are strongly against the transfer and continue to protest the transfer. Curva Sud recently unveiled a banner reading “Lukaku stay in Milan, we already have a second goalkeeper.”

Lukaku, who has returned to Chelsea’s training base in Cobham but away from the first team, has 121 Premier League goals.
